What is a Doula
A doula is a professional support person who is committed to you and your birth. Doulas meets with you before your birth to be sure that you and she are a good match.
She is available by phone for questions and support. When labor starts, she is available to come to you when you need her, and remains with you throughout your labor and birth, helping you to stay focused relaxed and breathing. She may make suggestions as labor progresses to help you and your partner meet birth's challenges.
She will visit you after your baby's birth and can help you with the adjustments of life with baby.
She does not give any medical care or advice, but rather her job is to help you have your best birth experience possible.
